EXPERIENCED AND ENTRY LEVEL CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATORS

We are looking for EXPERIENCED AND ENTRY LEVEL CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATORS to join our team.

Candidates must possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum experience with setting up work pieces and operating CNC mills.
  • Able to read and interpret CAD models and blueprints
  • Mastercam programming experience is required.
  • Job shop experience preferred, but not necessary
  • Experience with programming machines for” lights out” machining.
  • Experience with tooling speeds and feeds necessary to meet quality and production standards.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, cutting tool geometry and tolerances
  • Knowledge of precision inspection equipment and methods (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Strong basic math/shop math skills
  • General machining skills with good mechanical aptitude needed
  • Capability of monitoring machine performance (i.e. tool wear, cycle time, product quality, etc.) and identifying/troubleshooting any machine issues
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision• Satisfactory record of recent job performance, safety performance and attendance.

Injection Mold Design Engineers / CAD

M.R. Mold & Engineering is a well-established mold manufacturer in Brea, CA. We have been building high precision injection molds for plastic and silicone since 1985. Our Engineering department is currently seeking Injection Mold Design Engineers / CAD.

Responsibilities:

  • Controlled revision changes per Engineering Change Orders
  • Ability to create simple/ and often complex 3D models using Creo
  • Create Bill of materials, Detail and Assy drawings per ANSI Y14.5 using primarily Creo and occasionally AutoCAD.
  • Works with engineering and the sales team to determine part design and/or modifications
  • Evaluates design based on design function, materials, manufacturing methods, production cost and customer specifications
  • Can read and understand customer supplied part drawings with emphasis on material callouts, dimensions and associated tolerances.
  • Ability to interface with customers, suppliers and vendors via email and /or by phone.
  • Assist team members with miscellaneous duties as required
  • Responsible for completing tasks according to engineering schedule
  • Training is available for recent graduates that possess exceptional skills.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Solidworks or Creo for designing parts/assemblies
  • Must demonstrate strong ability to create drawings for both parts and assemblies in Solidworks or Creo
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks/Pro E tools such as standard features, as well as sheet metal, weldments, mold tools, and piping
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanically oriented, or hands on capable.

APPRENTICE/JUNIOR MOLD MAKER

Moldmaking is still a highly skilled trade requiring expertise in manual
machining, CNC machining, CNC wire EDM, CNC Ram EDM, surface grinding, hand
polishing and more. Because of the high skill and intense labor involved much of the
mold making in the US had been outsourced to low wage countries. Fortunately for the
US, many major companies are “reshoring” jobs back the US and there is high demand
for skilled tradesmen. The majority of plastic and rubber parts that are in existence
today are made using injection or transfer molds- requiring a mold to be manufactured
by a moldmaker.

that special person who wants to be an APPRENTICE/JUNIOR MOLD MAKER.

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector’s main objective is to provide inspection services to manufacturing. Perform dimensional and visual inspection for various manufacturing processes, with tolerancing down to .0001 under the supervision of the QC Supervisor. Complete appropriate inspection/quality records following the guidelines of our company procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Read and interpret customer supplied drawings and specifications
  • Interpret computer models of mold components, electrodes, and finish molded components
  • Set up, program, and operate CMM with PC-DMIS 3.5 software
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC video microscope
  • Use comparator, micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, test indicator as appropriate
  • Perform fist article and in-process inspections
  • Accept or Reject parts based on customer supplied print specifications
  • Complete QC inspection reports per customer requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues and concerns with Inspection lead and production manager
  • Participate in problem solving to support Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Gage Pins, GO-NO/GO Gages)
  • Basic knowledge in the use of operating Micro Vu video microscope and CMM equipment
  • Basic understanding of GD&T specifications
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities in support of production needs.
  • Demonstrate good communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel software.
  • Able to create statistical analysis of measured components

 EXPERIENCED CNC EDM PROGRAMMER/OPERATORS

M.R. Mold & Engineering is a well-established mold manufacturer in Brea, CA. We are looking for EXPERIENCED CNC EDM PROGRAMMER/OPERATORS to set-up and operate a Mikron electrode and CNC EDM sinker machines. Candidates should have experience in the set-up and operation of a Sinker CNC EDM equipment and be able to perform own programming and set-ups.

Candidates Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience programming, setting up and/or running a Mikron electrode mill and Sinker EDM machines
  • Sinker EDM experience
  • Electrode experience
  • Proficiency in programming in MasterCam
  • Ability to read and work off of a blueprint
  • Experience with programming machines for “lights out” machining
  • Capability of monitoring machine performance (i.e. tool wear, cycle time, product quality, etc) and identify/troubleshoot any machine issues.
  • Positions and secures work pieces on machine table
  • Check machined parts using precision equipment and methods, i.e. micrometers, indicators etc.
  • Make offset adjustments
  • Positions gauge blocks and/or dial indicator on work piece to insure accurate locations
  • Experience with tooling speeds and feeds necessary to meet quality and production standards
  • Ability to hold close tolerances to .0002
  • Adjusts machine settings such as flushing, voltage, current, frequency and feed rates
  • Meet schedules and maintain quality standards
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
